Last week, we had 19 students from Lowndes County CTC compete in Jackson, MS at the 2025 MS HOSA Leadership Conference. These students are under the instruction of our Health Science instructors, Anne Clemmons, RN and Cheltsi Saucer, RN. Students particpated in knowlege-based testing events such as, Medical Terminology, Behavioral Health, Pharmacology, Medical Law & Ethics, Human Growth & Development, Medical Reading, Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology. We had students participate in Health Professional Events including Home Health Aide and Clinical Nursing. We also had students participate in Researched Persuasive Writing & Speaking and Health Career Display. We are so proud of each and every student that participated and congratulations to those that placed in the competition.
- Faith Word, a senior at New Hope High School, placed 2nd in Anatomy & Physiology and is eligible to compete in the 2025 HOSA International Leadership Conference, that will be held in Nashville, TN in June.
- Albreyana Hairston, a junior at West Lowndes High School, placed 4th in Home Health Aide.
- Shelby Witzman, a junior at Caledonia High School, placed 4th in Clinical Nursing.
- Sasha Drummond, a junior at New Hope High School, placed 4th in Behavioral Health.
- Cailynn Ray, a sophmore at Caledonia High School, placed 5th in Behavioral Health.
